The unusual, organic form of the shell means that very few common tools can be used in its manufacture. Roger has to fabricate many of his own tools, such as the custom-made sanding blocks seen here. Once the finish has been applied to the fiberglass shell, these curved and pointed sanding blocks allow him to smooth the surface in preparation for paint and upholstery.
